Late evening and an unremarkable dinner at a local pub, then back to the house. Unexpectedly, the front door was unlocked, the key hung up just inside, a light left on. Expected was that the front door would be still locked (as we confirmed we’d left it after some frantic discussion), the key in its usual hiding place, and the lights all off.

A few “Hello? Is anybody there?” calls and searches through wardrobes and cupboards didn’t reveal any intruder. Nothing appeared to have been taken, and a call to the owners of the house confirmed that they weren’t expecting any visitors that weren’t us.

Bit spooky, but then again, what’s a campout without a good ghost story? Out came the wine and chocolate, and we settled into the evening. Kinda like a sleepover, really, except with computers and image processing software.
